School of Singing Parys

The Stéfan Louw School of Singing is in Parys (just over an hour’s drive from Johannesburg). Here Stéfan teaches children and adults the basic principles of singing. Although an opera singer, he does not teach exclusive opera techniques. Students can apply the methods to any genre of music and will learn how to control the breath, correct use of the vocal cords, microphone technique, and proper interpretation of songs.

The annual school fee is R19,800 and payable in monthly instalments of R1,650.

The student will receive one 60-minute lesson per week.

Advanced or professional singers can also book a once-off masterclass.
During a masterclass, Stéfan will work with the singer to achieve excellence in performing up to 3 works. Singers typically book a masterclass when preparing for a competition, performance, or recording. The singer must provide their own pianist or backing tracks for the class. Duration: 120 minutes. Cost: R1,100
